Whatever you sow, you reap.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:7-10

Have you ever felt like the harder you try the worse things become? You honestly try to put other’s needs before yourself, help those less fortunate, be the best spouse, parent, sibling, child, friend, that you know how to be, but yet… It’s never enough?

You’re not alone.

This Scripture is often quoted for those who don’t put other’s needs first and who are selfish and self-centered and live only for themselves. We usually focus only on verse 7 and the first part of verse 8, however I want to challenge you to look at the rest of the passage.

but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

I want to encourage you today that no matter what it looks like right now and how discouraged you might feel, we can trust God to keep His promises. He says to “not grow weary while doing good” and “in due season”, in HIS timing, we will reap His reward if we “do not lose heart”.

Hold your head up my friend and trust that God sees you and will bring you a harvest of His blessings so don’t grow weary and don’t lose heart. He is faithful.
