Ephesians 3
Today we will continue in Ephesians as we look at another of the spiritual gifts God has given us as believers, adoption. Please take a moment to pray before we begin.
Please read Ephesians 2:11-3:7

Adoption. Have you ever given any thought to the fact that we are adopted into God’s family? We, as Gentiles (non-Jew), are not God’s original chosen people. But yet, He went to great lengths to make sure we had the opportunity to become part of the family.
Ephesians 2:18-22, 3:5-7 says,
“For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the spirit.”
“which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets; that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.”
The Jews, (Israel) are God’s chosen people. The Law of the Lord kept them separate from the Gentiles. The Temple is where they worshiped and where God’s Spirit dwelt. It was a holy and separated place. But the blood of Christ has broken down that wall of separation. We ALL now have access to God. We’ve been reconciled, we’ve been made one in Christ. We’ve become the body of Christ, the temple of God with Jesus, the Chief cornerstone. Jew and Gentile are made one in Christ Jesus. We have been adopted! One of the very cool things about being adopted is that your parents can never disown you. They can disown their natural born children but not an adopted child. Adopted children are chosen to be part of the family. They are given a special place with all the rights and privileges of a natural born child. God chose us! When we accepted Him, we became permanent members of His family. He sent Jesus to earth to make a way for us to become joint heirs. How cool is that! My challenge for us today is to take some time to spend with our Father who chose us and gave us the gift of adoption. When you have time, here are a few more verses to meditate on. Colossians 2:11-15, Romans 10:12-13.
I pray that you each have a great day!
