Adventure Journal Entry #4

A new baby!

A new HVAC system…

Updated cabinet doors…

And a BUNCH of new baby chicks!

Oh my, a lot has happened since my last journal post!

Grand baby #5 is now 2 weeks old. He is one of the reasons I haven’t posted in two weeks. He came nearly a month early, however Mommy and baby are both doing well.

New life and new beginnings, very appropriate for springtime, don’t you think?

I love the changing of the seasons, spring and fall. In the fall, you have the harvest and everything begins to tuck itself into bed for a winter’s sleep. In the spring it all begins to wake up a little at a time and it is a beautiful thing to witness. Every morning as I walk the dog it seems that I see something new budding out, popping open, or blooming.

Similarly, the past couple of weeks, I have watched my new grandson change, grow, and bloom. Daily there is subtle changes and before I know it, he’ll be running and playing with his big brothers.

The busyness and excitement of the past few weeks have reminded me of God’s faithfulness. He is continually working even when we don’t see anything happening, sort of like the calm silence of winter; and just when we think that it will never end, things begin to happen, life starts to bloom again and you see that He was working all along.

It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed,
Because His [tender] compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul;
“Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.”

Lamentations 3:22-24 AMP

I want to encourage you as you are coming out of this long winter, look for the evidence of God’s faithfulness in your life. There is new life, new beginnings, and beautiful blooms ahead.
